On April 13, the Geely Xingyue L i-HEV and Xingrui i-HEV models made their debut. These new vehicles are equipped with Geely’s latest intelligent dual-motor i-HEV technology — the world’s first hybrid system using the “Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0” platform. According to official data, the WLTC fuel consumption can be as low as 3.98 liters per 100 kilometers (for the Xingrui i-HEV model).

The exterior design of the new car largely retains the styling of the current gasoline models; however, the body of the hybrid Geely Xingyue L i-HEV appears to be painted in an all-new color — a “champagne gold” shade. In addition, the car features a completely new wheel design with alternating gray and silver elements, giving it a distinctive look typical of new energy vehicles.

The interior of the Xingyue L i-HEV features a rich orange color scheme, complemented by a dual-screen setup and a three-spoke steering wheel. The car is expected to be equipped with the Flyme Auto infotainment system — featuring the Deepseek large language model — which also supports smartphone connectivity via HUAWEI HiCar and Carlink interfaces. Higher trim levels will also offer options such as a head-up display (HUD), front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, as well as adjustable rear seat backrest angles.

Geely’s newly unveiled intelligent i-HEV hybrid technology utilizes the GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture and the Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0 system. The engine in this system achieves a thermal efficiency of 48.41% — the world’s highest among mass-produced powertrains — and boasts fuel consumption 12% lower than the global industry average. With an electric motor output of 230 kW and a 0–30 km/h acceleration time of just 1.84 seconds, the system delivers exceptional responsiveness and a driving experience as close as possible to that of a pure electric vehicle. Furthermore, the system integrates patented power backup safety features and the Aegis battery management system. The technology’s reliability has undergone comprehensive validation: it has successfully completed 15,000 hours of bench durability testing and shares core technical solutions with the Thor hybrid system, which is already fitted in over 1.15 million vehicles.

As announced at the press conference, Geely’s i-HEV intelligent hybrid system has received seven major authoritative certifications. It has passed extreme durability tests and 18-degree offset triple collision tests conducted by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAARI). Additionally, the system has earned certifications from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), confirming both its high level of artificial intelligence and its record thermal efficiency for a mass-produced engine; it also set a Guinness World Record for the lowest fuel consumption during a circular drive around Hainan Island. The battery system meets the IP68 protection standard and exceeds the requirements of new national standards ahead of schedule. Moreover, the Xingrui and Xingyue L i-HEV models are the world’s first to receive the Level 1 energy efficiency certification for hybrid vehicles. These numerous authoritative endorsements comprehensively demonstrate the system’s high technical sophistication and superior quality.

Geely has officially announced that its i-HEV technology will be the first to enter mass production and be implemented across the “China Star” model lineup, achieving comprehensive hybridization and intelligentization of the entire range. Notably, the i-HEV intelligent hybrid system offers three different powertrain configurations, including dedicated hybrid engines in 1.5L, 1.5TD, and 2.0TD displacements, paired with an integrated “11-in-1” electric drive system. This technology debuts on models including the Xingrui, Xingyue L, Emgrand, and Boyue, meeting a wide range of user needs.
